Most organizations have strategic plans. Some organizations have information technology strategic plans. Few organizations have digital strategic plans that integrate their strategic goals with their technology goals. This session will discuss how to develop a digital strategy that supports strategic initiatives, addresses operational issues caused by ineffective software/systems and gets the support of the board of directors for digital infrastructure investments. The approach to Digital Strategy will be illustrated using a case study from the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU). In 2016, SVU did not have a strategic plan and faced several major technology challenges. This session discusses how SVU developed a comprehensive digital strategy - including a digital infrastructure investment plan- that supported its strategic, technology and operational goals. This interactive session will also provide participants with the opportunity to discuss first steps to beginning the developing a digital strategy for their own organization.
